El habitus y la movilidad social: De la modificación del sistema de disposiciones a la transformación de la estructura de clases

Abstract

The theory of habitus has given high yields in social research, especially when highlighting the elements of social field reproduction by the virtuous equation between the position and the disposition system of the agent, through the sociological miracle of the practicality sense of the habitus. However, when it comes to social mobility, the theory of habitus has more problems for a consistent description of the agents’ practices, as the prodigious correlation between dispositions and positions is lost. Assuming this diagnosis, I will try to show how it is possible from within the theory of habitus to generate a consistent explanation for the transformation of the systems of dispositions and the social structure, breaking with some structuralists remnants which do not respect the conditions of social processes given the new experiences of agents in field positions.
